My attempt at Brothers In Arms, from the 1985 album by Dire Straits. Played with an Epiphone Les Paul Custom, through a Boss volume pedal, into a Boss BR-600 8 track recorder. The recorder is playing the backing track and recording the guitar signal. The line out from the recorder is fed into the video camera. The backing track is available from www.licklibrary.com - the actual page is: www.licklibrary.com Hope you like it. As I say in the vid, it's not that technically demanding, but you have to be careful with muting inparticular. Something Knopfler seems to do with ease, whereas I still have to think about it! For anyone thats interested, I always play 'Knopfler Style' with my fingers. I am *completely* useless with a pick. Recently (since I got the Les Paul) I've also grown my finger and thumb nails and changed my style a little to pick with my nails rather than the skin of my fingers. This gives much more 'attack'. Lack of attack was never a problem with any of my single coil Strat type guitars, but it was an immediate problem as soon as I got the Les Paul, which sounded horribly muddy and muffled. Playing with the fingernails fixed it! I have an MP3 of this (much better sound) if anyone wants a copy, let me know and I'll tell you where you can download it! All the best Mark.
