Christopher Stephen Botti or Chris Botti [BOH-tee] (born October 12, 1962) is an American trumpeter and composer. Born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Corvallis, Oregon, he spent two years of his childhood growing up in Italy. His earliest musical influence was his mother, a classically trained pianist and part-time piano teacher. He plays a Martin Committee Handcraft trumpet made in 1940, and uses a 3 silver plated mouthpiece from Bach made in 1926, having recently retired his 1920 3C Bach mouthpiece. He counts Miles Davis among his most significant influences. Botti attended Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon where he studied under Larry McVey whose renowned jazz program had come to be a regular stop for Stan Kenton and Mel Tormé when they were looking for new players. It was here he played alongside his friend, trombonist and future Academy Award nominated filmmaker, Todd Field. After leaving Mount Hood, Botti studied under David Baker and Bill Adam at Indiana University.

A little history about Mp3 players and how they came to be starts back in the mid 1900's. Mp3 originally came from the reference of enthralling picture Experts Group - 1 Audio Layer 3. They started on developing the Mp3 player in 1959 when Richard Ehmer first came up with the idea.

At the University of Buenos Aires, Oscar Borello started developing a Pc audio card. In 1989, he introduced the first working device. Journals about this expedient being made were finally reported in February of 1988. At the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Karlheinz Brandenburg began working on how citizen perceive music in the early 1980's, completing his work in 1989.

The first personal Mp3 player ever released was September 9, 1995. Its popularity increased with Nullsoft's audio player Winamp in 1997 along with the audio player mpg123. In 1999 Napster created larger, best Mp3 players but at last had to be shut down because their new Mp3 player caused thorough copyright infringement.

When major record associates started arguing that free sharing of music (called music piracy) caused fewer sales, they pursued lawsuits making Napster shut down. Many retailers tried to keep citizen from buying the music files but in doing so, the Digital proprietary Movement was created. Later some authorized services, such as Beatport, Bleep, Juno Records and eMusic began selling unrestricted music in Mp3 format, thus spreading personal Mp3 players all over in separate stores.
